About
This self-paced, year-long foundation program is designed for aspiring dog trainers studying about one hour per day. It teaches the Cultured Hounds behavior modification system, starting with puppy and new-dog foundations before progressing to humane, individualized behavior assessment and case planning. Learners study canine body language; assess anxiety, shyness, reactivity, and aggression; use training tools, energy, and tone of voice responsibly; and apply all four quadrants of operant conditioning in moderate to severe cases. The program also covers client communication, ethical business practice, and case planning. Quizzes, milestone tests, and a final assessment support a certificate of achievement. This program provides foundational knowledge only and does not legally certify participants as dog trainers; legal certification is not required to work professionally, and learners remain responsible for local laws, scope of practice, and appropriate referral to veterinary or clinical professionals.
